Administration
For over 20 years, I have served in various teaching, coaching, and leadership roles within Sumner County. I have taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels with most of my teaching career spent at Hendersonville High School. While at HHS, I served as Head Wrestling Coach, where many of the wrestlers and teams experienced success at the state level.
From 2014-2021, I served as the Assistant Principal at Merrol Hyde Magnet School. While at MHMS, the school earned multiple recognitions on the local, state, and national levels. At the national level, the school was awarded the Blue-Ribbon status by the U.S. Dept. of Education, they became a Nationally Accreditated Paideia School for Critical Thinking, and U.S. News and World Reports recognized MHMS as one of the top 5 public schools in the county.
I earned a bachelor’s degree in Modified Comprehensive Special Education, a master's degree in Instructional Leadership from Union University, and a doctorate of education in Learning Organizations and Strategic Change from Lipscomb University.
My wife, Amy, and I keep busy with five children, which includes two sets of twins. I love spending time with my family, woodworking, and music.
